Attendance
Attendance Line 877-4799 ext. 2
It is the parent’s responsibility to notify the school when the student is absent. Promptness and regularity in school attendance is essential for student success in school. School starts at 7:43 AM each day. Parent Link makes daily calls to parents when a student is absent. Please make sure your contact information is up to date in the office so you receive these important calls.
Absences may be excused for the following reasons, with appropriate documentation:
- Doctor’s appointment
- Death in the family
- Religious commitment
- Illness
- Family Emergency
- Diagnostic testing
- School or college visit
Refer to the handbook for more information on the Attendance Policy
Telephone Usage
Students are allowed to use the telephone in case of emergency only. Before coming to school, students should get permission from their parents to alter their after-school activities. Last minute changes in after-school plans may result in miscommunication and “lost children.” Make arrangements with your child for transportation after school and special functions before the school day begins. If you have any special need, please call the office and we will be glad to help.
Cellular Phones may be brought to school but MUST remain out of sight and TURNED OFF during the school day. PHONES ARE NOT TO BE USED DURING SCHOOL HOURS. A violation of this rule will result in the phone being confiscated from the student and turned in to the office where it will remain until it is claimed by an parent/guardian.
Dress Code
Adobe Acres Elementary is a uniform school. The uniform guidelines are as follows:
- Docker style blue, black or khaki colored pants (No Jeans)
- Shorts, skirts, jumpers or skorts in blue, black or khaki. The length must be longer than the end of the students fingertips.
- Any solid color polo shirt
See the Handbook for more information
Drop-off / Pick-up Procedures
Visitors and parents may park in the North Lot. The Bus pick-up area is on the South side of the school. A student drop off and pick-up area is located on the North side of the school. Parents may sit in their cars and wait for students to be dismissed at the end of the school day. However, a parent may NOT park and leave their car in the drop off/pick up area. This causes traffic congestion and other parents cannot move their cars. If you are going to park and get out of your car, please use the East and West parking lots.
Bullying Policy
Adobe Acres Elementary School understands that a safe, respectful and fear-free environment that prohibits bullying is necessary for students to learn, achieve high academic standards and for the establishment of a positive educational environment. Therefore, we are committed to providing a safe, respectful and fear-free environment for all students, staff, parents, community partners and visitors.
See the Handbook and our Bullying Brochure for more information.
